Car DVR — Make Your Driving Easier

With applying digital video and audio coding technology to vehicle, car DVR has been being developing as a new special product. It adopts embedded processor and embedded operating system.

Car DVR combines the newest H.264 video audio compression and decompression technology, GPS global location technology, 3G wireless communication technology, USB communication technology, advanced car power supply management technology and GIS geography information technology, which can be used in various vehicles. Car DVR can be connected to car devices, such as car monitor, signal priority control system, passenger flow statistics system. It has wide application on mobile traffic tools, such as bus, school bus, engineering vehicle, container truck, police vehicle, train, metro and so on.
Compression technology, such as MPEG-4H.264, M-JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264, is used commonly. And among these, H.264 is used the most as it fits for network transmission more. It has high video compression rate and low stream. With development of digital encoding performance, the resolution of car DVR has upgraded from CIF (352 x 288) to D1 (704 x 576). The improvement of network technology, microelectronics, encoding and decoding technology, and operating system technology make embedded car DVR head to digital, integrated, wireless, high resolution, individual and interactive.
A good car DVR should be not only with delicate workmanship, but also with stable performance. Though car DVR adopts embedded system as other DVR, but its more complicated than the others. They are totally different. Car DVR is used on mobile vehicles, because of the difference on car and road, there is big shock while driving, which will affect the hard disk in reading and writing data. So shock-resistant is a basic requirement for a car DVR.
The stability of voltage is another important technology to car DVR. Some movement would cause the voltage fluctuation, such as brake, step on the accelerator, which will easily cause the damage of car DVR. So car DVR must have wide voltage input ability to get used to such voltage change. The current car DVR normally adopts 6~36V wide voltage to fulfill the requirement of mobile traffic tools.
Except shock-resistant and voltage stability, radiating and high resolution are also very important to car DVR.
